Installing Irrigreen Sprinkler Heads
BEFORE YOU ADD ANY HEAD, YOUR CONTROLLER MUST UPDATE - NOT OPTIONAL
Hold the red and blue button together for 10 seconds to force update if you have a Smart Controller 2. Let the controller sit for 5 minutes before wiring anything.
Otherwise, allow your Smart Controller 3 to sit on the WIFI for 10 minutes before adding heads.
Attach Irrigreen Sprinkler Heads
Hand tighten Irrigreen sprinkler head onto the Flex-Pipe elbow fitting until it bottoms out against the O-ring inside the head. The bottom of sprinkler should be flush with the elbow nut. Check to ensure the nut is flush all the way around; cross-threading will lead to leaking and possible sprinkler damage.
DO NOT use Teflon tape on the Flex-Pipe elbow fitting. Use only on the 1" PVC connection fitting.
Quick Note
Only 8 Irrigreen Sprinklers can be connected per Controller Cable (Branch off in two directions with cable tees, if needed).
If you are running more than 8 heads, use this tip as a guide; the order of heads is irrelevant:
Irrigreen Digital Sprinklers #1-8 will run on the first controller cable:
-Wire first controller cable to “iG Digital 1-8 (controller 2)” or "i1 (controller 3)" and “Common (C).”
-Locate sprinklers #1-8 in the order you want them to run.
Irrigreen Digital Sprinklers #9-16 will run on a second controller cable:
-Wire first controller cable to “iG Digital 9-16 (controller 2)” or "i2 (controller 3)" and “Common (C).”
-Locate sprinklers #9-16 in the order you want them to run (they will run after #1-8).
Connecting Sprinkler Cables
Daisy-chain up to 8 sprinklers per terminal (#1-8 and #9-16). Controller 2:
Controller 3:
Smaller “male” connectors always point back to the controller. Larger “female” connectors always point away from the controller. Ensure that you do not jam the connections; bending the prong in the cables will result in no control of the sprinkler.
Male connectors point back to the outlet. Female connectors point away from the outlet.
Install CableLok Clamps
Install on all EcoZone Cable connections
1. Align arrows on connectors.
2. Push Connectors together until they bottom out.
3. Place CableLok Top over connectors. Align ridge with corresponding ridge on connector.
4. Snap CableLok Top down into place.
5. Align and Snap CableLok Bottom into place.
Irrigreen Head Depth
All cable connections should be housed in a protective valve box installed below the turf next to each Irrigreen Digital Sprinkler Head.
Position sprinkler head so that the top of the Irrigreen Sprinkler cap is about 1/2" above grade.
For sloped landscapes, install heads at about 1/2 angle of the slope.
