Design Your Irrigreen Layout

A lawn requires proper irrigation, and a well-designed sprinkler system can make all the difference. Whether you’re starting from scratch or upgrading an existing system to Irrigreen, this guide will walk you through the essential steps to create an efficient and effective sprinkler layout for your yard.

How do I design my yard layout?

In the guide below, we'll walk you through designing your Irrigreen system.

We recommend doing this step before starting your installation, but you can do this step at any time to make sure you're prepared before you start digging!

1

Getting Started

Follow these steps to get started with our yard design tool.

You'll be prompted to enter your address. We use Google satellite images to pull the birds eye view of your lawn and design from there.

2

Outline Your Lawn

The Irrigreen design tool first needs the outline of your lawn to know the exact dimensions of your area.

You can fine adjust points and add more points if there are dividing areas of hardscapes, garden beds, or other obstructions.

3

Trees?

Now you'll get to the point where you can outline trees or other obstructions in the yard. These points don't have to be exact measurements, but get as close as you can.

Ctrl + scroll to zoom in and out to make fine point adjustments. Add as many areas as needed.

4

Quick Note

There are 'Extra Tools' on the side of the screen that you can use to help with design.

-Delete - delete specific points

-Screenshot - take a snapshot of your design

-Measure - measure distances to make sure you have proper coverage

-Start over - reset entire design

-Low flow - We do not recommend running Irrigreen under 8 GPM, but if you cannot increase flow, select this option to adjust sprinkler throw distance.

-XP - select this if you are purchasing XP heads, this won't adjust anything on the map, but XP heads will make up inconsistencies and pressure and have a separate cost in the quote at the end.

5

Add Heads

Now you can begin adding your heads! Try to design with economy of space in mind and think about where the the water line comes in and where it makes sense for it to go.

Best practice is to have as many straight shots as possible, every elbow joint can potentially reduce pressure and water flow, resulting in reduced throw distances.

All this to say that this isn't a finalized version, if you need to make a new yard design or make some changes, that is normal!

You'll notice the sprinkler will adjust around your obstructions/trees in the yard.

6

Meet Your Lawnprint

After all heads are place, select 'You're Done' and then you'll get a quote with your cost and savings. From there you can proceed to purchase or you can email the quote for later.

Now that you've read the guide, give it a try on your own!
