Alexa + Irrigreen

Alexa is integrated with Irrigreen. With Alexa you can start, stop, and inquire about the status of your sprinklers all with voice commands.

In order to implement this Alexa skill, you will need a working Irrigreen sprinkler system installed along with an active Irrigreen account. Your account will be used to link with this skill, so please have your account credentials ready. You will not be able to use this skill without an Irrigreen account.

Follow the guide below for linking with Alexa. CURRENTLY ONLY AN iOS FEATURE

1

Enable in Irrigreen App

Navigate to the 'More' tab and tap the account icon in the top right corner. Underneath your name/email you'll see the option to add your controller to Alexa.

2

Enable to Use

The Amazon Alexa app will now open on your phone.

Tap "ENABLE TO USE"

3

Login to Irrigreen Account

You'll now be prompted to login to your Irrigreen account that you use in the app. Have your credentials ready.

4

Once you tap close you can verify that you have linked by tapping 'Settings.' You also have the option to disable at anytime.

5

6

Alexa + Irrigreen Commands

Once your controller is configured you will be able to interact with it. Open the Alexa skill by saying, "Alexa open my sprinklers". You are able to perform a quick run of a zone or of your entire system.

To do a quick run of the whole system say:

  • "Start my Sprinklers"

To do a quick run of a certain zone say:

  • "run zone ____" and then the zone number or say,

  • "run ____" and then the name you have given the zone.

At any time you can tell your skill to

  • "stop watering" and all current watering will cease.

You can also ask if your system is watering by asking

  • “Are my Sprinklers watering?” and Alexa will tell you if your system is currently watering and in what zone.

To end your session with Alexa you can say

  • “That’s all” or “I’m done”.

More commands are listed within the Alexa skill in the app.

After account linking, your controller number should automatically be added to your Alexa account. If you have multiple controllers associated with your account you will need to specify the controller you would like to add.

This can be done by saying, "Alexa tell Irrigreen watering to add controller _____" with your controller number at the end.

You will only be able to add controllers that are linked to your Irrigreen account. Please note that currently only one controller can be added to Alexa at a time so adding a controller when one is already stored will overwrite the previously added controller.
